Works of art, books, jewelry boxes, furniture, rosaries, an almost infinite potpourri of beauty and refinement collected in over seventy years by Giancarlo, a multifaceted character, who chose Poleschi Fine Arte to open the doors of his universe, allowing the realization of this exhibition, with the hope of passing on and spreading the need to surround oneself with beautiful things. Beauty as a quality of satisfaction of the soul, becoming an object of deserved contemplation.

To give value to what has been written, we have jointly decided to gather a selection of works, all on paper, all having as their fulcrum the drawing, intimate and primordial expression for every artist, autonomous and complete aesthetic object.

Each of these works is the protagonist of a fact, an episode, a story that very often involves the artist with his client, or interlocutor, Giancarlo precisely.

We are sitting opposite each other. We begin by taking down a painting that is easily reachable with his left hand. He offers it to me, it is a Penone, saying: “you know, he gave this to me over forty years ago, there should be a dedication “ad personam” on the back: "to Giancarlo, Giuseppe Penone”. Then he points to a python-like hand and says: “It is the Parmiggiani I feel most strongly about. I have had a long acquaintance with him: I have collected many works, but that one represents me a little more. They even used it for an article dedicated to me in Harper's Bazaar”. He quickly moves on to another work. It is De Chirico's turn, with a portrait made of Filippo de Pisis in 1916 and, consequently, we move on to a face made by de Pisis a few years later.

He tells me to move my gaze higher. There are works by Salvo, one more beautiful than the other. He tells me about his friendship, his enormous respect for this artist and says: “If I had to classify him in a movement he is without a doubt a conceptual artist, he only does conceptual art”.

We continue without a barrier. It's Ben Vautier's time, always from the Seventies. Ben shaves Picasso, Dali, Martinez, and below an old iron razor.

Giancarlo says “Ben shaved everyone.”

Before you know it, we had an idea drawn.
